January 2013

Well with February drawing to a close I decided it was time to update for January.
On December 31st we went over to my parents house to celebrate my Dads 71st birthday. We played games and and yummy food. Then as we left their house, we notice fireworks close by. So we went to find them. The community just up the hill from our house was setting them off! So we could sit in our van, on our street and watch huge beautiful fireworks! The kids thought they were amazing and both kept saying "Beautiful!". After we got the kids into bed Cam and I watched a few count downs. But we were in bed by 10:30pm. I cannot remember the last time we stayed up! haha

While Carter was still on winter break, he went to a winter camp at Renfrew on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th. He LOVED it, and it was a nice split up for the holiday. They did everything fun (with a bit of therapy worked in there). It is because of this that I realized, Carter knew who Santa Clause is!! And he LOOOVES him. Next year we will be taking him to see him at the mall for sure.
January 5th- First thing this morning, Carter and Cam went so Carter could get his 5yr old shots. When the nurse weighed him, she thought something was wrong with the scale. Made him step off and on. Asked Cam is he was touching him. She couldn't believe that he weighed in at 21.9kgs! (48 lbs). Cam said that hes always been this way! Hi height was 111cm. Then we went as a family to Cross Iron Mills mall and we had such a good time. We bought tokens at the arcade and played for over an hour! The kids (and us!!!) loved it!! We had so much fun! Then we had lunch and ice cream and headed home.
January 6th- After church we had Grandma and Grandpa Millington over for a Roast beef dinner. This is the most I've ever seen Erica laugh!
7-15th. On Monday the 7th, Carter returned to school an he was VERY happy to see Gerry his bus driver! Tuesday the 8th, Erica went into #3 diapers. Wednesday the 9th. I had my first meeting with the Primary presidency. I got called as the secretary in Primary. Thursday the 10th, Erica got her 4 month shots. She weighed just under 17lbs. It snowed a lot today, so while Erica napped the four of us went out and played in the snow. We made a big mound in the middle of the front lawn that Carter would slide down on, with his sled. But he preferred just rolling down it himself. Tonight was Cams first game for Stake Basket ball. Friday the 11th, Logan had a play date with Jason Byrne. His mom and I visited. Sunday the 13th we were surprised when Cam got called as the 2nd counseller in the Elders Quorum! He is really excited!
January 21st - Cam and I celebrated our 7 year anniversary.
January 25th- Cam, Erica and I went to the RV show at the Stampede grounds with Bridgette, Joe and Alyssa. The boys stay over night at their Aunt Kathys house. So Cam and I could have some alone time for our anniversary.
January 26th - Tonight Cam and I went to the Byrnes house to play games.

December 26/2012 - December 29/2012

Dec 26 - Today we went boxing day shopping. Yup, were crazy. We needed 2 new DVD player, and boxing day is the day to get some good deals. We got two blue rays for super cheap. Then found a Ninteno Wii U - Deluxe edition!! So hard to find right now. Spent the day setting all the new stuff up! 

Dec 27 - Today Grandma Earl came to visit for a few days. Tonight we went and drove through the Spruce Meadows Christmas lights with her, and stopped at the mall for some outdoor wear for Carter, who keeps losing gloves. 

Dec 28 - Tonight we went to Zoo Lights with G.Earl. It was really good, until Logan started whining and Erica wouldn't stop crying! Then we just left. Kind of sad. This is a yearly tradition that we do in our family. This was our fourth year going. On the way out was passed the horse ride and Carter insisted that he ride it. So Cam took him on. Or course Logan wanted a turn too. So everyone else headed towards the van and logan and I went on. He got scared of sitting on the horse, but he was happy on the bench. The on our way back to the van, he stopped at the music and light display and danced  for a bit. 

Dec29 - This morning G.Earl drove home and we spent the day at home cleaning and organizing after a busy week of Christmas. That night we went over to my sisters house to eat Chinese food and play games. The boys sure needed it. They had SUCH a good time play with Alyssa and burning of some energy!! They passed out when we got home!!

December 24&25, 2012

December 24&25/2012- Yes Christmas gets its own entry! It was wonderful  Full of family, food, presents and good times!
On Christmas Eve we had Dave and Marilyn over for dinner. They got here at five and we ate our turkey dinner!! It was SO good! Extra Yorkshires! Marilyn brought this awesome dish that I can never remember the name of! So good! This is the first holiday meal where ALL of our family sat and ate together!!! It was wonderful. Logan was kind of being a goon, so we strapped him into his chair at the end of the table because dinner was almost ready. I started placing dishes on the table, starting with the ham and turkey in front of Logan. I turned around to see him LOADING his plate full of meat, and he ate it ALL!!! HE LOVES meat. So funny!
After dinner,  the Elves rang the doorbell like crazy, and the elves presents were sitting on the doorstep!! Carter was so excited he didn't know what to do with himself. Then he got PJs. He wasnt impressed with that. Then the kids opened presents from Uncle Dave and Auntie Marilyn and they were MUCH happier! Angry birds and Cars. Carter ripped through the presents like crazy!! Doesnt get better then that. We all opened Elves presents, then we spent the night chatting. Kids went to bed and Santa Claus came!!

Christmas DAY! We got the kids up and gave them cereal. Honestly they weren't very excited. They loved playing with their stocking, and then Carter wanted to go watch a movie. Logan had no interest. So we decided to get ready for the family coming over for breakfast. G&G Millington, Steve and Kathy came. Breakfast turned out awesome. Last year Cam and I were so busy cooking we didnt get to sit down with everyone. So I precooked the bacon, and cooked the pancakes and eggs at the same time. Turned out great!! food tasted good and everyone was stuffed. 

We then went into the other room to open presents from each other. Much to my surprise the kids were all for it!! I was so glad. I was kind of bummed after how the morning went. I really enjoyed this part. It was so much fun to watch every open their gifts, see the excitement. 

After presents Grandpa (no surprise here) went to sleep. The rest of us went into the kitchen to play games. Everyone went home at 1pm. I climbed back into my PJs and we spent the day playing with toys, sleeping and eating. What a great time it was!! 

December 1-23, 2012

December 1/2012 - Tonight we put up our Christmas tree as a family. The kids loved playing in the lights and pointing at the start at the top of the tree. Carter was helping by holding the lights as daddy put them on. Dad and I put all the ornaments on after they went to bed, because nothing would stay on the tree.

December 3/2012- This morning while Carter was at school., I took Logan and Erica to go see Santa at Southcenter mall. Its really neat to wait in line to see what all the lights and buttons do. Logan wasnt to thrilled about sitting on Santas lap though. But Cookie made up for it after.
That night for Family Home Evening we decorated gingerbread trees!

December 7/2012 - Tonight I went out for a girls night!! With my sister Amanda, Sis-in-law Marilyn and my niece Makayla. We went to moxies before hand to eat, then to twilight breaking dawn: part 2. It was an AWESOME time.
December 9 - 22, 2012 - Our whole family got REALLY sick with this horrible flu going around. Starts off like a cough, then the chills and fever hit. Then you are POOPED forever and left with a nasty cold!!! We all got it. Cam was the last one to get it and he JUST got over it. Ugh.

November 2012

November 25/2012 - Tonight we celebrated Carters 5th birthday. We had spaghetti for dinner. Then Grandma and Grandpa Millington, Kathy and Dennis came over for cake and presents. This is the first time Carter has been excited to open presents.Also the first time he seemed to understand that this day was for him. He wanted to open his presents before dinner but we told him he needed to eat first. That is the easiest I have ever gotten him to the dinner table. Then everyone came and we had a chocolate cake and sang happy birthday to Carter twice. Then he finally got to open presents which he LOVED. He got a bowling set and an angry birds game. He had SUCH a good time and didn't want to go to bed. He was in a great mood.

Time for a new blog!

Welcome to my new blog. It will be slightly different then my last blog. My aim is for it to be more of a journal. This way people can know what happening with us. We have family and friends all over the world, and we cannot talk with everyone as often as we like. A lot of times I forget whats happening. This should help! In my last blog I posted about how I am keeping a more detailed calenders for my family. That is what I will go off of when I update this blog. But a more detailed account! then one day, i will print it all off to keep. So welcome!
